| Description: | Axialis AX-CDPlayer will permit you to listen to audio CD using your CD-ROM drive and your audio card. It looks like a real electronic car CD player!. If you know how to use a real CD player, using AX CDPlayer will be a child's play! Automatically get disc and track titles through Internet! With Axialis AX-CDPlayer you can automatically get disc and track titles accessing freedb.org worldwide database through the Internet. The program is 100% compatible with CDDBP protocol (submit and query). With this feature you will no longer need to enter disc and tracks titles manually. Simply insert an audio disc in AX-CDPlayer and a few seconds later disc and track titles appear in the LCD like display. What is Freedb.org? If you are not familiar with freedb.org or its database and service, the concept is a simple one. On commercial music compact discs, there is no disc title, artist, track title, credits, or other information that a player application running on your computer can extract and display for you. However, Axialis AX-CDPlayer can scan the CD inserted into the computer, extract its TOC (Table Of Contents), and look the disk up in freedb.org massive database (over 480,000 discs and 5 million tracks). The freedb.org database then returns the title and track information to the player application for display by the time you hear the first notes of the album. In the unlikely case where the disc does not appear in the database, or if any information is incorrect, you can submit new or corrected disc and track information to the freedb service for future access by you or by other fans. Why freedb.org? Because freedb.org is the largest free and anonymous CD Database on Internet: It has been done and is managed under the GNU General Public License (see GNU GPL). It is free to use now and will be free in the future. Everything submitted to this site (your contribution!) will be GPL’ed too! It actually includes more than 500,000 entries and it is growing fast (see freedb statistics page for more info). You don’t need to register to freedb to use it. It is totally anonymous. The first time you insert a disc, information about it is automatically downloaded via Internet from freedb.org and is stored in a local database. With AX-CDPlayer you can store and manage an unlimited number of discs in that database. For each disc you can specify titles, artists, favorite custom play list, copyrights, extended data and more. A powerful import/export system permits you to exchange disc information with your friends. You can also import disc information from CDPLAYER.INI files (the Windows CD Player file format). It means that you're eligible for all updates, for free and for life! How to proceed to get the free upgrade? When you purchase and install your program, you were prompted to register online. The first time you register an Axialis Program, you specify a personal Username and Password. You'll need them to upgrade your application online. If you lost them (you should not because the program keep them in memory), visit the customer area. To upgrade, select MENU > Free Online Update or Press Ctrl+F8 and follow the instructions.
